EVENT | Tour de France passes through Aire-sur-la-Lys
The town of Aire-sur-la-Lys is getting ready to welcome the Tour de France on Monday 7 July!
Following the announcement of the Tour de France's grand start in Lille and the official presentation of the complete route for the 2025 edition last October, we were delighted to learn that the "Grande Boucle" would be passing through Aire-sur-la-Lys on Monday 7 July! The last time the world's most famous cycling race passed through our town was on 17 July 2012. Everyone still remembers the fervour generated by the event on that day.
We'll be reliving those emotions in a few days' time when the 3rd stage of the Tour takes place. After a first stage that will take the riders from Lille to Lille and a second hilly stage between Lauwin-Planque and Boulogne-sur-Mer, the caravan and the riders will pass through Aire-sur-la-Lys on Monday 7 July during the Valenciennes-Dunkerque stage. The riders coming from Isbergues will take the avenue de l'Europe, the rue d'Isbergues, the rue Saint-Pierre, the rue du Bourg, then the rue de Saint-Omer, the rue du Fort-Gassion before heading towards Mont Cassel, via Boëseghem.
The caravan should arrive in town at around 2.15pm, while the race is scheduled to pass through between 4pm and 4.30pm, depending on the average time. Two giant screens will be set up on the Place du Rivage to follow the arrival of the race in the town of Jean Bart!
